Christopher Lai, our 契仔!

Today was a memorable day as Adam & Betsy became the blessed parents of Christopher Lai Tin Lap (黎天納).  Christopher was born at 11:50am, weighing 3.06kg (6lb 12oz).  We had the tremendous honour of being appointed as Christopher’s godparents, or 契爺 (god-dad, pronounced “kai3 ye4”) and 契媽 (god-mum, pronounced “kai3 ma1”)!

We pray that with God’s help we will be a blessing to the family and also help to raise our 契仔 in a godly way – that he will know God at an early age and become a great influence in his generation.  Born on the 8th of June, two verses came to mind and we prayed that Christopher will point the way to Christ:

1 Corinthians 8:6 NLT
But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we live for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life.

… and ruled by the Love of God:

Song of Songs 8:6 NLT
Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, its jealousy as enduring as the grave. Love flashes like fire, the brightest kind of flame.

What a blessing!  Follow the story at
