Invitations. There are LOTS!. Status update:
- Early invites to overseas family/friends (20 off): 100% complete, sent back in June 2009
- General invites to everyone else (300+ off): in progress – 70%
We chose to hand-deliver most of them, as we won’t bump into everyone, and we could save on postage if many live nearby and in the same area. Areas visited:
- Vermont South / Mitcham / Blackburn / Donvale
- Glen Waverley / Forest Hill / Wantirna / Wantirna South
- Scoresby / Rowville
- Hawthorn / Glen Iris / Malvern East
- Mount Waverley / Ashwood
After approximately 500kms of travelling this weekend, here are the top 5 interesting (annoying?) things we encountered:
- (5.) Numbers that don’t quite match the ones on the opposite side of the road… so the GPS led us to a place one block away!
- (4.) Rowville is MASSIVE!!… so the checkpoints were about 10mins apart (shortest route!)
- (3.) Locked mailboxes… didn’t want to bend/fold the cards so we had to (inconspicuously) leave them under doormats.
- (2.) Mailboxes within security area… do regular posties have a pass to enter?
- (1.) WRONG ADDRESSES! …they apparently moved without letting us know! >.<!!!
Nevertheless, it was time spent together – what an adventure! Our trip continues this week and probably next weekend too! ^_^
