Yep, I almost lost it!
We were on our way back from the Great Wall when, as we stowed away our beanies and gloves, I realised my ring was amiss. Just as we decided to look around, the van entered a long, dark tunnel. Pray was all we could do, having recently learnt what the term “liminal space” meant…
Losing the ring was a disaster waiting to happen as the temperature dropped to -14degC: the fingers were thin and on numerous occasions I quickly took off the gloves, snapped a few pictures and swiftly put them back on. It could have been any one of those times…
Exiting the tunnel we proceeded to look around the van, search the gloves, the jackets… nothing. Then – a thought… the backpack… Emptying it we were relieved to find the ring right at the bottom! It fell off when I first took the camera out, some 30ft in the air on a chair-lift! Thank God the space was short…
LOL… I know what you mean by liminal space. And I just love the fact that it ‘forces’ us to trust in God so much more (or at least on a regular basis not just when we really, really, REALLY need Him).
It’s a way God can say: ‘You silly boy, don’t you know who’s in control Why you worry so much eh?’
But He loves us toooooo much to keep us in a state of discomfort. So YAAAY! to finding the ring! 😛
